The Fruit That I’ve Become

Paras - Cultural Events in Bali - Ruang Arta Derau - The Fruit That I've Become
The Fruit That I’ve Become is a celebration of unfolding—of Yessiow’s journey as an artist, a daughter, and a woman. Rooted in the dual heritage of Java and Bali, and shaped through a decade of global mural-making, this solo exhibition explores selfhood through playful, symbolic forms. With fruit as metaphor and family as medium, these works are a collaboration not only of paint and yarn, but of memory and love. At its heart, the exhibition honours process, perseverance, and the quiet strength of coming home to oneself.

He stitches memories and spirituality into abstract forms, creating a new visual language that, while not literal, is rich with cultural and emotional resonance. The 'Tusuk Kusut' exhibition itself is a reflective projection of this meditative encounter between memory and transformation.
