Longer, Linger & Angler

Paras - Cultural Events in Bali - Nonfrasa - Longer, Linger & Angler
The phrase ‘Longer, Linger & Angler’ might seem like a title, yet it functions as a layered invitation, an open field where making, writing, questioning, and spectral haunting blur into one another. This exhibition, featuring the works of Xiuching Tsay (1993, Chonburi) and Pande Wardina (1995, Bali), does not seek to offer straightforward answers. Instead, it cultivates a space where the persistence of tradition becomes a site of inquiry-where the boundaries between memory and invention are porous, and where engaging with cultural material is inseparable from questioning.

home MADE by Sekala 369

Paras - Cultural Events in Bali - home MADE by Sekala 369
Showcasing the works of Ade Itameda and Eka Mardiys 'home MADE' invites you to rethink the notion of Bali as the collective home, both for Balinese and outsiders. As a wordplay, it is a call to Made (the stand-in of the Balinese name) to be aware of the ever-evolving home island. It is also a reference to Ade and Eka's works created in the Sekala studio as our home base, often also rooted in the traditions of the homeland.

Sea Mogul, Run due, Calm me, Talk, Barrel Ear

Paras - Cultural Events in Bali - Nonfrasa - Sea Mogul, Run due ,Calm me, Talk, Barrel Ear
Nonfrasa is delighted to present a group exhibition, ‘Sea Mogul, Run due, Calm me, Talk, Barrel Ear’. This group exhibition delves into the reciprocity between language, symbolism, and the imperfections that arise when words falter. Paraphasia, a linguistic phenomenon where unintended syllables or phrases emerge, disrupts the expected flow of communication. Yet, within this disruption lies a peculiar beauty, a space where misplaced words and lost meanings reciprocate opportunities for humor, poetry, and new interpretations.

The Racuns and Gurat Art Project offers a creative space where the precise lines of traditional Kamasan painting serve as a wellspring of inspiration for modern visual art. This artistic journey stems from the profound realisation that tradition isn't a static relic of the past but a dynamic, living force—one that's consistently reimagined and rediscovered within contemporary artistic expression. This project features the work of the following artists: Agus Mediana “Cuprux”, Gusde Mariadi, Gungde Putra, Kadek Wiradinata, Kadek Sumerta, Mangde Bendesa, Putra Wali Aco, and Putu Edy Kharisma.
