From 13–17 August 2026, Jia CURATED returns to Bali, set within a new beachfront location, marking a bold new chapter for the annual immersive event dedicated to craft, design, and culture. The 2026 edition is presented under the theme Nature Weave, grounding the programme in an exploration of the relationship between nature, material, and making. The edition builds on its established foundation, with returning programmes expanded in scope and depth—refining existing formats into a more dynamic 2.0 experience. Across exhibitions, dialogues, and community-driven activations, the programme offers richer content, broader participation, and more meaningful engagement.

For the first time, Octopus 26 is developed by an international curator, Krisna Sudharma, a contemporary art historian and writer, and director of Nonfrasa Gallery in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia. The relationship with Sudharma forms out of Gertrude’s two-year partnership and engagement with DESA (now DESA Projects), organising a program of month-long research residencies for Australian and international artists from 2023-2025.
